Lewis Central High School is currently seeking applicants for a High School Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Lewis Central High School is a 9th-12th grade building serving approximately 1020 students and 65 full time teachers. LCHS staff and students are committed to our district vision of “Inspiring Excellence” in all we do: academics, positive staff and student relationships, parents/family involvement, as well as athletics and fine arts activities. LCHS staff utilize collaborative, innovative instructional methods and support each student in maximizing their individual potential.

 

Applicants for this position must currently hold or be able to obtain an Iowa teaching license with the appropriate endorsement through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners no later than August 2025.

Job Summary: 

 

Under the general supervision of the building administrators, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district approved curriculum (following the Iowa Teaching Standards for subject listed above), documenting student progress and outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment.  Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals. This position will also collaborate with building staff including other teachers, support staff, administration and district support staff to carry out our mission of inspiring excellence.
